By now, you probably know that Facebook has added a number of recent changes. And psst! … they aren’t done yet! And if you are on Facebook, you’ve heard some grumbles and groans, but I like to remember that it is a free social networking platform, and change is always hard.
One of the changes you’ll want to fix, and it will just take you a minute.
Although Facebook reset your e-mail notifications to a default of “send me important updates and summary e-mails,” I am not getting some e-mails that I consider important. For example, when someone posts on my wall, I want to know what they said immediately in case I need to respond, or in a few cases, delete the post.
To change the e-mail notifications, go to the top right corner of your page, and using the drop down menu, select “Account Settings.” Then on the left side, choose “Notifications.” If you already had your e-mail preferences of notifications set up, you just need to delete the check in the box at the top.
If you haven’t customized your e-mail notifications, go ahead and do it by checking the boxes of the e-mails you would like to receive. I suggest at the least that you check off when someone posts to your wall, when someone tags you in a photo, when someone sends you a message, and when someone comments on your post.
