Using Signatures in Gmail

Deciding on an e-mail signature that works for you can be tricky. For the majority of my e-mails, I opt for a very simple signature with just my name and a link to my online business card:

Sometimes, I opt for a longer business card to identify my broker and for readers to easily find where I am online.

With various companies like Wisestamp, you also can use add-on signatures you can apply for your e-mail.

Just like the message you set up on your voicemail, each e-mail signature will be different for everyone, and you’ll have to decide what is best for you.

To personalize your signature if you are using Gmail, go to Settings>General. Settings is the very small wheel in the upper right corner when you are logged in to Gmail. About halfway down is the signature box.

You can set up a different signature for each of the accounts you have routed through your main Gmail account, and Gmail will automatically select the signature that is joined based on the e-mail account you are corresponding with.

What does your e-mail signature say about you?
